Introduction of The Use of Nitrogen
The chemical element code of Nitrogen is N. It is the most abundant gas in air, accounting for about four-fifths of the total volume of air.
Characteristics of nitrogen:
Nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, and odorless stable gas.
Because N2 has a triple bond (N≡N), the bond energy is extremely large, and the chemical property is inactive. It hardly reacts with any element at normal temperature, and can only be combined with a few metal or nonmetal elements at high temperature.
Density is smaller than air (under S.T.P., the density of N2 is 28 / 22.4 = 1.25g / L)
Nitrogen is a non-combustible, non-combustible gas with a melting point of -209.9oC and a boiling point of -195.8oC.
The use of nitrogen:
Since its discovery in 1772, nitrogen has been widely used in industrial, food, and medical applications. In aerospace, aviation and racing, nitrogen has been used to fill tires for nearly 20 years.
The benefits of tire nitrogen filling:
Improve security
When the car is running, the tire temperature will increase due to friction with the ground. Especially during high-speed driving and emergency braking, the temperature of the gas inside the tire will rise rapidly and the tire pressure will suddenly increase, so there is a possibility of a flat tire. Compared with general high-pressure air, high-purity nitrogen contains almost no moisture, so its thermal expansion coefficient is low, and it has the characteristics of non-combustible and non-combustible, so it can greatly reduce the probability of flat tires.
Maintain the stability of tire pressure
Because nitrogen penetrates the tire wall about 30-40% slower than air, it can keep the tire in a moderately inflated state for a long time.
Extend the service life of tires
The aging of rubber is caused by the oxidation of oxygen molecules in the air. After the aging of rubber, its strength and elasticity will decrease, and cracks may occur, which is one of the reasons for shortening the service life of tires. Oxygen and water will not oxidize the rubber inside the tire, nor will it corrode the metal rim, so it can extend the life of the tire.
Reduce fuel consumption and benefit environmental protection
Insufficient tire pressure and the increase in rolling resistance after heating will increase the fuel consumption of the car while driving. In addition to maintaining the stability of the tire pressure and delaying the decrease of the tire pressure, nitrogen is also dry and moisture-free. Reduce the temperature increase when the tire is running, reduce the rolling resistance, and then achieve the function of saving fuel consumption.
