How big are wheelchair wheels?
1. Wheelchair size for large wheels
Carry primary weight. Wheel diameters are 51, 56, 61, and 66cm. Typical rear wheel sizes for a manual wheelchair will range from 20”-26” in diameter, 24” being the most common. Pneumatic tires are often used except for a few use environments that require the use of solid tires.
2. Wheelchair size for small wheels
There are 12, 15, 18, and 20cm diameters. Small wheels with large diameters are easy to cross small obstacles and special carpets. However, if the diameter is too large, the space occupied by the wheelchair as a whole becomes large, and the movement becomes inconvenient. The normal small wheel is in front of the large wheel, but wheelchairs used by paraplegics often have the small wheel behind the large wheel. During operation, it should be noted that the direction of the small wheel is perpendicular to the big wheel, otherwise it is easy to fall down.
Aleader Tire can supply 3 inch to 8 inch wheel for the front wheels and 20 inch to 24 inch tyres for the rear wheels.
