This 12 1/2 x 2 1/4 foam filled tyre is designed for selected scooter and mobility equipment applications where an airless tyre is preferred.

The tyre uses a rubber outer construction with polyurethane filling inside, offering an alternative to conventional pneumatic tyres without changing to a fully solid PU tyre.

A Rubber Tyre with PU Filling Inside

The construction is straightforward: a rubber outer tyre surrounds a polyurethane filling instead of an air chamber.

The rubber outer tyre remains in contact with the road, while the PU filling takes the place of the air used in a pneumatic tyre.

Because there is no air chamber, there is no need to inflate the tyre or maintain tyre pressure.

This makes the construction worth considering for replacement projects where the customer wants an airless option but prefers a rubber outer tyre.

Pneumatic, PU Filled or PU Solid?

From the outside, the three types may look similar. The main difference is what is inside the tyre and how the tyre is constructed.

Pneumatic Tyre

A pneumatic tyre uses air inside the tyre for cushioning.

It is a common construction, but tyre pressure needs to be checked and maintained during use.

PU Filled Tyre

A PU filled tyre replaces the air with polyurethane while keeping a rubber outer tyre.

It is an option when an airless construction is preferred but a rubber outer tyre is still required.

PU Solid Tyre

A PU solid tyre is made from solid polyurethane throughout.

It is different from a PU filled tyre, which combines a rubber outer tyre with polyurethane filling.

The right construction depends on the equipment, wheel and original tyre.

It may be possible, but the tyre size alone is not enough to confirm compatibility. The wheel and equipment configuration should also be checked. If you send us the current tyre and wheel information, we can review the application with you.

Yes. An existing tyre sample, drawing or clear product photos can be used as the starting point for reviewing the required specification.

03.Can you supply a complete wheel and tyre assembly?

04.What information should I provide for an OEM quotation?
