PU Filled Rubber Tires Under the Microscope
SEM Analysis of PU Foam Structure
The mechanical behavior of a PU filled tire is closely related to the cellular structure of its polyurethane filling.
Aleader uses scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to examine the internal structure of PU materials used in its tires.
SEM images reveal an open-cell polyurethane structure with a relatively uniform distribution of cellular pores. In the observed material, most pore diameters are concentrated in the range of approximately 50–100 μm.
This microstructure provides useful information for material development and quality evaluation.

Why Cell Structure Matters
A polyurethane foam is not simply a solid material with air inside. Its mechanical response depends on the polymer network and cellular architecture.
When a tire is subjected to load, the PU filling undergoes compression and deformation. When the load is reduced, the cellular structure recovers toward its original shape.
The resulting tire behavior is influenced by factors including:
- Cell size
- Cell distribution
- Cell-wall structure
- Foam density
- Polymer formulation
- Hardness
- Compression behavior
- Temperature
- Loading frequency

Solid Tire Factory's Certificates
As a professional polyurethane solid tire manufacturer, we are committed to delivering safe, durable and environmentally friendly products that meet the most stringent industry standards. All of our products comply with the requirements of the ISO7176 standard for wheelchairs and mobility aids, and have successfully passed the testing requirements of ROHS and REACH, ensuring our materials are free from hazardous substances and fully aligned with European environmental regulations. Some of our products can even meet the strict German GS certification standards for children's products, reflecting our uncompromising attention to safety and quality. Every batch is subject to strict raw material inspection and finished product testing, and our certificates are independently issued by SGS, one of the world's most recognized testing organizations. With these internationally accredited certifications, our PU solid and filled tires are trusted by clients worldwide across electric wheelchairs, elderly scooters, electric bicycles, baby strollers and special industrial equipment.

The company's capabilities cover polyurethane material development, product design, manufacturing process control and finished-product testing.
Material and Manufacturing Control
For PU filled tire production, consistent performance depends on controlling the material and manufacturing process from raw materials through finished products.
Relevant process controls may include:
- Raw material inspection
- Polyurethane formulation control
- Mixing ratio control
- Foaming process control
- Mold and process parameter control
- Tire dimensional inspection
- Finished-product inspection
- Durability and performance testing
This process-based approach allows material characteristics and finished tire performance to be evaluated as part of the same product development system.
